Christian Girl Savaged

Born in Ireland, Ms. Coffey, 28, was found on a camping trail with her throat slashed ear to ear.  Police say Ms. Coffey died from a "massive laceration to the front of her neck."

Her husband Blazej J. Kot, 24, a suspect, led police on a five-mile, high-speed chase before stopping.  Police then went to the couple's apartment and found it on fire, but Ms. Coffey was not there. State police ruled the fire arson. 6

 
 
 
 

The Husband Is A Polish Jew

Ms. Coffey loved to travel and had recently visited the Galapagos Islands and to Poland, where Mr. Kot is from, Ms. Millon said. The couple had planned a visit to Germany in October. 6

 

The Killer's Parents

Kot's parents, Leszek and Barbara, both holocaust survivors, flew in,  but they had been denied access to him while he was in the hospital. 

No Bail For A Flight Risk

Mr Joch said he had no concerns that Kot would try to flee to New Zealand, where he was raised after being born in Zaire to Polish parents.
